We are members of the Wellbeing Group for older people, who because of Civid 19 lockdown have been unable to meet weekly as we usually do. However, we have decided to stay connected by entering the " Creative Futures" festival.
We chose the theme of "Cathedral Thinking for our art work and all put our individual thoughts and ideas on paper, using narrative, colour and creativity to collectively design our collage. Completing this piece has been thought provoking and we have had many meaningful conversations, which have sparked ideas for future projects in this current difficult, isolating time.
Our "C" book has become full of interesting streams of thoughts, examining our culture, economy, climate change and ways to remain resilient and hopeful in the future. We have noted how this challenging time has given us time to reflect on these issues and how small changes can add up to positive changes.
Cathedral Thinking is about starting things for future generations to complete and as a group of older people we hope to contribute to some intergenerarional work in the future and through completing this project we have generated motivation and ideas to do this.
We have reflected on how during this project we have used the 5 Ways to Wellbeing that our group is based on, namely to Connect, Learn, Be Active, Notice and Give and we thank you for giving us the opportunity.
