Theatre Changes Minds

Get a taste of theatre for change at beautiful Culpepper Gardens in Islington with new theatre company Change, Act!

Learn about socially engaged theatre pioneer Augusto Boal and his methods which we base our work on. You could take these away and use in your own community work!
Experience some enjoyable theatre and drama games and discuss their meanings
Try out using role playing and "forum theatre" techniques to build solidarity and problem solve ideas for action around news stories around green spaces and wildlife in London
Meet others with in interest in drama and community theatre and find out more about the work of Change, Act! in Islington and beyond
Who is this workshop for?

Anyone over 16

You might want to meet new people and build confidence or you might be interested in drama more generally, community theatre or finding out more about Augusto Boal Legislative Theatre and Theatre of the Oppressed. An interest in environmental issues may be useful but is not a must as this is only part of the workshop. Feel free to bring your own news stories along to explore.
