Celebrating #DementiaActionWeek at Tonbridge Cottage Hospital

What a wonderful week it was to hold the grand opening of the Tonbridge Cottage Hospital garden. Timed to cooincide with both Dementia Action Week and Creativity and Wellbeing week, the Deputy Major of Tonbridge, Councillor Kim Tanner official opened the gardens on Sat 25th May, along with wonderful Nurse Fiona Arnold.

The staff, patients and their relatives all enjoyed the lovely sunny weather and where entertained with a mix of the wonderful sounds of nature along with the songs sung by  by the Tonbridge and Malling Dementia Friendly Community Choir.

Catering was provided by the Salvation Army catering truck along with the local Cafe Neuro Kafe 'caterer' supported with food supplied by online bakery - www.ketobakery.co.uk

Then on Sunday the staff, patients and relatives enjoy more foot tapping music when Hilden Brass played a mix of music, including a few jazz/dixieland favourites like, "Down By The Riverside", and "What a Wonderful World".
