Description

CoDa Dance Company is a unique contemporary dance company specialising in thought-provoking outdoor and site specific performance, exceptional community practice, and dance as a physiotherapy tool for neurodisabled people. CoDa is also developing cutting edge digital dance production, exploring film, motion capture technology and virtual reality to further the reach and meaning of our work.

CoDa has a history of making innovative dance happen in unusual places, led by the artistic vision of Nikki Watson. We have been creating professional dance productions in non-theatre spaces and supporting communities to develop work about their local areas since 2013. All of our productions are born out of our pioneering participatory methodology where the professional artists are continually guided by the personal stories of CoDa’s participants who act as consultants and co-creators throughout the creation process.

CoDa have delivered invaluable dance for health work throughout the South East since 2013, providing vital movement rehabilitation for people with MS, Acquired Brain Injury and other neurological disabilities. People leave our sessions feeling more positive, mobile, and confident, as well as more connected socially.

CoDa engages hundreds of people each year through site-specific and immersive performance, dance workshops and community work. We’re shifting towards a digital and virtual approach to reach a wider audience and utilising new creative technologies to deepen the significance, accessibility and impact of our work.

We strive to give people joyful and meaningful experiences that inspire creativity and curiosity. Our aim is to tell real life differently.
