Dementia Friendly Bristol Museum

We have developed three strands of dementia friendly activity over the last two years : Creative Cafes, Assisted Visits for groups and ArtBox.

Creative Cafes take place at Bristol Museum and Art Gallery are for people living with dementia and their carers. The cafes are run by a team including museum staff, artists and volunteers and include a pop up café and hands on creative activity. From May 2020 Creative Café activity is being delivered from a distance with a new programme in the making.

Assisted visits are tailor made visits for groups with some extra staff guidance and assistance.

ArtBox is a specially designed activity box for people with advanced dementia and their carers/families which is being used in care homes and hospitals.
