Lime Arts

Founded in 1973 as Hospital Arts, Lime is an innovative arts and health organisation based at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT). With an ethos centred on the participation of patients and stakeholders when creating artworks, from discussion and focus groups to participants physically making the art, Lime works with built environment projects that enhance hospital spaces as well as projects that focus on a particular issues, for example Cystic Fibrosis or Mental Health, to assist in improving the health and wellbeing of patients. More recently, Lime piloted the innovative Create.Connect.Unwind project that focusses on the wellbeing of MFT Staff and which during 2022/23 will focus on referrals for staff wellbeing into arts workshops, with a view to creating a model of best practice that embeds the arts into healthcare settings.
