Description

Malvern Community Art Therapy, (MCAT) is a new art therapy community, offering:

  • open studio style, supported sessions to make art at your own pace
  • 12-week, themed groups for people with similar experiences
  • 1-1 art therapy for deeper and more tailored support

It is run by qualified art therapists with a range of experience in the arts, mental health and community organisations.

Being talented at art is definitely not a requirement and there is no judgement here, only encouragement!

As humans we are all uniquely creative.  Images and art materials can be powerful  tools in finding self confidence and expression.

We don't teach art techniques in the sessions but we are always willing to share skills and help you get started.

Starting up in Feb 2023, we are in the first stages of developing a range of supported sessions and are currently focussed on referrals from the social prescription and neighbourhood mental health teams.

Please get in touch if you or someone you know would benefit from supportive, therapeutic art making, and you would like to know more.

MCAT is very grateful to be funded by Birmingham Centre for Arts Therapies (BCAT).
