Open Art Box CIC - Dementia Home Art Workshop Project

The current Covid-19 health crisis has meant many people living with dementia or caring for someone living with dementia have been cut off from all social activities, supportive groups, friends and family. This is a group at great risk from the current isolation measures. Many within this community do not have access to online resources and therefore they are more likely to feel isolated and in need of a sense of purpose. With a grant from Hertfordshire Community Foundation and donations from our Local Giving page. We have been providing art packs  and will be continuing for at least the next 3 months.

Each Home Art Workshop pack, delivered weekly to their door, includes resources and art materials that enable people to undertake art projects on their own or with their carer. Each simple activity is planned by artists and includes full instructions. We telephone each participant to support them with their projects and help with any guidance they may need. We can then share their experiences with others involved and help build an ongoing sense of community and connection.

Through these packs we not only deliver a new creative challenge and a chance to connect but also a message that they are being thought of and their voices are valued, through all this difficulty.
