Description

Slow Stitching is a process.  If you love looking through haberdashery and enjoy the tactile quality of different fabrics, this is a Mae Kandoo workshop you will love! You only need basic handsewing skills to create your own, unique slow stitched piece.

Vikki will be guiding you through the process once you have spent time choosing your fabrics.  Paying attention to detail, noticing the textures, colours and patterns will bring your focus to a different level as you explore composition.

Did you know ?

Slow stitching has proven benefits for health and wellbeing! Living in a world driven by technology, it can be difficult to relax because our brains have to cope with constant stimuli. Finding ways to escape from the stresses of every day life can be difficult. The rhythmic and repetitive nature of slow, methodical stitching can be like meditation.  This calms the mind and can reduce anxiety.

How? Because the focus needed to stitch and piece together fabrics draws attention away from day to day worries and promotes a state of mindfulness. Completing a slow stitched piece can bring a great sense of achievement and can be a real confidence booster!

Vikki is delightef to br returning to Scarlett's Wool and Craft Shop as a guest tutor.  Scarlett is a crochet guru!! and has a regular programme of community craft sessions including Knit and Natter, Crochet Club and 1 to 1 sessions.
