Discover Drama, Communication and Therapy Through the Art of Theatre
Drama and acting are creative, fun, and incredibly rewarding life skills. But stepping into these worlds can feel intimidating—especially when you’re navigating a new language. That’s where Therapy Through Art comes in.
This is your space to explore acting and communication skills simultaneously, all while having a great time. It’s a supportive environment where making mistakes isn’t just okay—it’s celebrated as part of the process!
In today’s fast-changing world, life moves so quickly that it can take a toll on our mental health. Research even shows that the way we think, focus, and see the world is changing. This is why looking after our minds has never been more important. Mental health care, or “psycho-hygiene,” is no longer just something extra—it’s something we all need. And what better way to nurture our minds and emotions than through creativity and the arts? Theatre, in particular, is so powerful because it gives us a chance to express ourselves freely in ways we might not feel able to in daily life.
Many of us carry emotional burdens from childhood or the pressures of life, and theatre creates a space to release those feelings and reconnect with who we really are. It’s about accepting ourselves and finding joy in that freedom.
We hope you’ll feel some of that joy and freedom within our sessions! Our events cater to a wide range of interests. Whether you’re looking to:
You’ll find something for you here. All events are open to everyone, including non-native English speakers. These sessions are perfect for anyone who wants to improve their skills—whether in communication, socializing, or life skills—through the therapeutic art of theatre, all while enjoying a joyful, welcoming atmosphere.
Our group is led by Ayna Utegalieva, Founder of World Women (www.worldwomen.co.uk), Theatre 12, and RISE – a Mental Health and Well-being Centre. Ayna is a psychotherapist and psychology practitioner, as well as the author of The Truth Dust: AI, Neuralink, and Why Psychology is the Profession of the Future. After a successful career in the corporate world, Ayna realized that her true calling lay elsewhere. She discovered a deep passion for personal development and social responsibility, which led her to dedicate herself to the social sector—focusing on psychology and the happiness movement.
