Utopias of Care

In this joyous workshop, we will create dioramas of care utopias which are idyllic, disability-friendly, anti-fascist safe places.

In this joyous workshop, we will create dioramas of care utopias which are idyllic, disability-friendly, anti-fascist safe places.

These will made using cardboard, collage and doll's house miniatures. Glue, pencils, pens and paint can also be used. Sculpture student Phoebe Kaniewska will facilitate discussion around the body under fascism; an investigation into a nervous system under constant strain and how we can change it, using radical, tender care interaction and support.

Aimed in particular at disabled and chronically ill people, and their carers, loved ones and those creating disability friendly spaces.

Phoebe will create a safe, creative space where participants can share their thoughts and experiences while making. Her hope for this workshop is to create a dialogue of how we can support disabled people, create communities that are accessible and inclusive, and also use craft and visual art to support people's wellbeing.
