Wonderful World

As part of Creativity and Wellbeing Week, the Arts Team will deliver an injection of creativity exploring cultural identity, representation and wellbeing. Responding to the national theme of “Critical Hope,” the project will bring together staff, patients and visitor opportunity in York Hospital Main entrance through a series of participatory and artist-led activities. This includes a live residency with artist Nduka, creating  portraits  to celebrate diversity and representation, alongside a multi-sensory programme exploring cultural exchange through sound, visual arts and making. Additional elements include interactive work with artist Stephen Lee Hodgkins, nod to new wellbeing spaces and creative engagement linked to environment and memory through river-based themes. The programme will align with Equality, Diversity and Inclusion priorities and the Trust’s anti-racism commitments, aiming to improve staff wellbeing and inclusion, and create more compassionate healthcare environments.
