Description

The Spitz takes professional musicians into care homes, day centres and hospitals across London. We use the power of live music to increase wellbeing while reducing isolation and loneliness.

Drawing on the large pool of musical talent nurtured from running the original Spitz venue (formerly in Spitalfields Market), our participatory music sessions and public events have proven to ease anxiety, encourage interaction and improve wellbeing through mental and physical participation.

We build relationships with participants and their families, taking the time to get to know each beneficiary's musical likes and dislikes. This enables us to deliver a truly personalised service, in both our group sessions and one-to-one and led us to winning the first Mayor of London Culture Seeds award for Culture & Wellbeing at City Hall in 2019!

Since founding the charity almost 10 years ago, we’ve successfully delivered hundreds of music sessions, benefiting thousands of elderly people, in multiple settings. Going forward we will be expanding into new locations each year. Stay tuned to find out more..
